Dizzy and I are, like most of the country, social distancing/isolating! And Dizzy is feeling a little bit bored having to stay in all the time. 🙂 Dizzy is a donkey who likes her little adventures! So we have been joined by Jen and Robert to think of lots of ways in which we can keep ourselves busy during this difficult time.

To start with though we are joined by Jessie, who is chatting to us about her journey so far with MS, and all the amazing work that she is currently doing. Then Dizzy and I are joined by Jen and Robert to talk about ideas for pottering around at home! 🙂

Don’t forget to also potter over to Dizzy’s Dotty Team page where you can find out a little more about us all. 🙂

We really hope you enjoy this months little episode, and please get in touch with any comments, questions or just to say hello. 🙂 We always love to hear from you. xxx

  1. Dizzy – it is tough when you’re the life of the party and have you have to stay at home. You’ll make it up when things are normal again.

      1. That’s great Heather! I am doing fine – pretty much the same for me, as I was working from home before, and still walking in the morning before work and on weekends, although I was reluctant and stopped a few days as our state is bad for cases and deaths of the Coronavirus. So pretty much the same for me – work has slowed down considerable and only essential workers are allowed to go into the workplace so our office, like all doctors, dentists, and pretty much all office buildings are shut down. Our Governor is taking some pushback for closing down everything but she is doing it to save more lives – hopefully things are better in the UK. I saw your PM is out of the hospital. You take care, stay safe and away from the crowds and germs. Happy Easter!

        1. We are still in lockdown at the moment, but over the last few days, the daily death rate has fallen. I’m just hoping it keeps doing so. It is really scary when it is so high, and so sad. x We have been making the most of our garden though. 🙂 And Willow is always looking pleased with herself. 🙂 xxx

          1. We are still in lockdown mode as well Heather. At least to the 30th of April, but today our Governor hinted it will be awhile longer as our death tolls and cases keep rising. We were third highest in the county, now the 4th or 5th (it changes everyday unfortunately but still abysmal stats). Glad to hear the garden is coming along; now here in Michigan, they did not allow people to go to gardening centers for seeds, dirt, mulch – anything for gardening. They are not allowing grass-cutting services either. People are miffed as the weather HAD been nice and they could have worked outisde. We have sleet happening right now … a little late in the season.

          2. The garden centres are all shut here too, but luckily most of them are still delivering. 🙂 It has been so nice outside the last couple of weeks. x We still don’t know how much longer our lock down will go on for either. We were told it would not be lifted at the moment, but that’s all they’re said. x Keep safe, and look after yourself. Dizzy sends you big donkey hugs. 🙂 xxx

          3. We are in what they are calling in our state “stay-home/stay safe” mode. Although we are now allowed a few more privileges like going out on a motorboat or golfing, neither what I do, but most businesses are still not operating. You’re lucky for the good weather – we had 70F (21C) Monday, then it got stormy and rainy the last few days. You look after yourselves too Heather … it is just me, so easy to manage “germs” … please return my hugs to my favorite donkey. 🙂

          4. We moved out of ‘stay home’ to ‘stay alert’ yesterday. But a lot of people feel it is still too soon, myself included. The new guidelines are also quite confusing which doesn’t help. :/ Dizzy and I will still be staying in for the time being. xxx

          5. I am only walking and that’s it and I finally went back to taking pictures, but with the small camera as it is not near my face. I heard about your PM changing to a different category and saw a photo of a bunch of people getting off a red double-decker bus, many were not wearing masks. Staying home is better – I walk in the neighborhood as the Park is closed (doesn’t make me happy) but go to bigger parks on weekend, but go early to avoid the crowd and still wear a mask even though I went a week ago Sunday when we had a very warm weekend … 150 people, maybe 10 wearing masks. You two stay in until things get better, with the loosening of restrictions, people will go hog wild and forget social distancing and wearing masks. They did that in Wisconsin yesterday – once it was allowed, they went into bars, without masks,

          6. This is the problem, and they are not making it a rule to wear masks at the moment. I am so glad I can work from home, and do not have to venture onto public transport. Luckily, the park near us is still open, and it’s quite small, so usually quiet. 🙂 x Stay safe. xxx

          7. Yes, I am glad we both work from home. It is not mandatory here, but suggested, although if you go into a store, you are supposed to wear a mask. In one store, they had a security guard to enforce it, and customers got angry and killed him! The world has gone a little crazy – we have people who are or are not infected with COVID-19 but spit on people and say they have the virus. You stay safe too – these are trying times for sure.

          8. That’s awful about the security guard!! Although, we have had people spitting on people and claiming to have the virus here too. It’s such a horrible thing to do. x I think home is the best place to be. Keep safe. xxx

          9. I thought the spitting silliness was just here in the U.S. – we have a lot of craziness here in Michigan Heather. Today our Governor has permitted social distancing with up to 10 people now. I don’t know what makes people tick sometimes. You keep safe too Heather.

          10. It’s the same here. They are relaxing the measures very quickly now, and a lot of people are worried that it will cause a 2nd wave. I really hope not, but I can see how it could happen. 🙁 xxx

          11. They relaxed the order a lot today – we went from 10 people in a group just before Memorial Day holiday to now 100 people in a group and they have finally opened the Park where I go daily – yay, I am happy for that. That just happened this evening. Stay safe.

          12. Yes, I was ecstatic for that Heather … we were shut down a month, but I made multiple trips (8 I think it was) to the Park, sneaked in and left peanuts for them. I hope we don’t revert so badly that they shut it again.

          13. Awww, I am sure Parker really appreciated his peanuts during the lockdown, and I am so glad that you are seeing him again! 🙂 Does he still look a little chubby? 🙂 xxx

          14. Thanks Heather – I couldn’t bear thinking he and his friends were going hungry because of the lockdown. And I’d put peanut on the picnic table, so knew they would be savvy enough to look there. He is losing his Winter fat – they get thinner in the Summer and then in the Fall, they start bulking up for Winter courtesy of Mother Nature who ceates a fat layer and heavier fur – pretty amazing isn’t it?

          15. I used to love it every time it came on the TV Heather. Can you imagine if they really used such a method to help jog their memories? I remember when “sticky notes” first came on the market. We thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread – had reminders all over the place. 🙂

          16. Oops I returned by accident … they went into bars, unmasked, crowded with everyone else and drank toast, slamming their glasses together.

  2. Another fab Dizzycast! It actually made me feel like I was involved in it because it’s so relaxed and casual and I realised I’ve not been around people for a chat in a while! I’ve not a hemiplegic migraine before but I get chronic migraines so I can only imagine how awful that must be and so scary to hear the word ‘stroke’. xx

    1. Aww, thank you so much for your lovely comments Caz. We always want it to be relaxed, so it’s lovely to know that it does feel like that when people are listening too. x How are you doing at the moment? xxx

Let us know your thoughts, they always make for a very happy Dizzy :)
