The beautiful Terri from Reclaming HOPE has nominated Dizzy and I for the Chronically Hopeful Award. 🙂 We don’t usually do award posts anymore (they were giving Dizzy abit of a big head), but this one is an extra special one to us. Being hopeful with MS is super important to us, and we also hope that we give a little bit of hope to others who also have a chronic illness.

The wonderful Chronically Hopeful Award has been created by Pamela, “to recognize the incredible people who blog about chronic illness, mental health and disability.”

The rules:

  • Thank your nominator
  • Recognize Pamela from There Is Always Hope as the creator of this award and link her URL – https://pamelajessen.com
  • Use the Chronically Hopeful Award logo somewhere in your post
  • Copy these rules onto your post
  • Answer your nominator’s questions
  • Write 5-10 of your own questions (they don’t need to be illness related)
  • Nominate 5-10 other chronic illness, mental illness, or disability bloggers
  • Comment on each of your nominees’ latest posts to tell them they have been nominated

Terri’s Questions For Me:

  1. What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned since starting your blog? To be yourself. 🙂
  2. If you could tell people ONE thing about living with a chronic illness, mental illness or disability, what would you want the general public to know? I would most like people to have an understanding of invisible illnesses and symptoms.
  3. Why did you decide to start your blog/advocacy work? Dizzy and I were stuck at home in the middle of a relapse, and decided to make our little blog to keep ourselves busy. 🙂 We also really wanted to help other people feel less alone, hopefully bring a little more awareness about the condition and make friends. 🙂
  4. What is one thing you’re really good at? This one is really tricky. Dizzy is saying she’s good at everything! So we’ll just put that down. 🙂
  5. What do you like to do for enjoyment? Having discussions with donkeys, saying hello to ducks and napping.

My Nominees:

This one is so hard, as I follow so many amazing bloggers who should be nominated for this award! But Dizzy has picked 5 (the ones who first came to her mind during her ginger nut biscuit snacking time earlier). 🙂

My Questions For My Nominees:

  1. What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned from your illness?
  2. If you were a dinosaur, what dinosaur would you be and why?
  3. What is your most embarrassing moment?
  4. What is your favourite flower?
  5. What makes you happy?

  1. Congratulations on winning the “Chronically Hopeful Award” award! Dizzy needs to get excited for you winning this well deserved recognition. Every donkey should have its day once in a while.

  2. Thanks so much for participating Heather and Dizzy! I enjoyed reading your answers, and I’m not surprised Dizzy says she’s good at everything.😁 You chose some great questions for your nominees – I look forward to seeing their answers. I love that picture of the donkey! Is this one of the ones at the Donkey Rescue? Thanks again for spreading the love (and hope)!

    1. Hehe, Dizzy is rather a confident Dizzy, and not exactly modest either… 🙂 And no, I found this donkey photo on a free sharing photo website, but I just thought it was so cute! How’s your weekend been Terri? How are you getting on in the heat? xxx

      1. I agree – that’s one adorable donkey! My parents used to have one that lived not too far from them, and you could hear it braying quite often. We’d be sitting on the back deck and all of a sudden, we’d hear heeee –hawww. He gave us a lot of laughs over the years. My weekend was good; I hope yours was too. I’ve just been staying inside where it’s cool for the most part. How have you been doing with it? I understand it’s quite hot there as well.

        1. Aww, that is so sweet! They do make such a strange sound really, and it’s so loud! 🙂 x It is very hot here at the moment, rather too hot for Dizzy and I, but it is still nice to see the sun, and we have been pottering out a little in it. 🙂 xxx

  3. There’s a saying on the standard licence plates issued here in South Carolina that states: “While I breathe, I hope.”

The award is so you – congrats -…and the quote is a keeper, too.
    hugs

      1. Really well, thank you. I just reviewed a poetry collection pubbed recently by someone on your side of the pond. You might be interested in it. Good reading IMHO.
        Take care.

          1. “In Brigantia” by Andrew James Murray – (he’s a Manc!) available via amazon and amazon uk. Details on my latest blog post.
I also recommend anything by Mary Oliver (more widely known poet) who just passed away a while back.

          2. “In Brigantia” by Andrew James Murray available on both Amazon and Amazon UK. I wrote more details on my latest post if you’re interested. Another favorite poet of mine, Mary Oliver is more well-known. She passed away recently,,,but anything by her is delightful to read.

          3. I shall have a look, thank you. I have been abit out of the loop with wordpress recently (life getting in the way…), but I shall definitely check out your post with further details. 🙂 xxx

  4. Congratulations on your award, you so deserve this and so much more! You are such an advocate and I so appreciate your blog.

Bless you for thinking of me, Dizzy, I am deeply touched. One of my favorite animals is a donkey……..so, I feel we have a special connection. 🙂

    1. Thank you Wendi! And we couldn’t not have thought of you when Dizzy was deciding who to nominate. 🙂 Dizzy is also very happy about one of your favourite animals being a donkey. 🙂 xx How has you weekend been? xxx

  5. Congratulations on the very well-deserved award! I think you’ve surpassed your reasons for starting this blog & you can certainly give a big tick to helping people feel less alone, making friends (we’re all your friends now whether you like it or not 😉) and raising awareness – you should be hugely proud for everything you’re achieving!
And thank you very muchly for the kind nomination! xxxx

    1. Thank you so much Caz. That really means alot to us. x We hope you’re doing ok, and we look forward to reading your answers if you do take part. 🙂 xxx

        1. I have Netflix too! That amount on there is amazing! Have you found any series that have taken your fancy so far? And I’m not too bad thanks. 🙂 xxx

          1. That’s great Heather. I really enjoyed The Crown and The Bodyguard and Marie Kondo… Looking forward to more series. Reading less books though! xx

  6. I think it is wonderful that you have won this award and what a brilliant idea behind this award. Chronically hopeful. That is what we all need to be. All the best to you and to Dizzy!

    1. Thank you Anne. 🙂 How have you been? We’re pottering outside for our horse riding sessions now that the sun is out; it’s so lovely! The horse flies are abit of a menace though! xxx

      1. Yes the flies can be bad especially after there has been a rainy season. I use a non insecticide fly spray with Neem and lavender and some other oils and it seems to be a bit of a help. I also have a fly swisher that is a stick with a horse hair tail attached at the end. I always take that with me when we go in the forest. Biasini does not mind if I swish it around but some horses don’t like it. Good to hear you are still riding.

        1. I don’t think Ruby would mind that either if it was helping to get rid of them. There are so many! And I am. 🙂 I’m getting much more confident now aswell, as long as we’re not going too speedily. 🙂 xxx

  7. First, congratulations on your award! You my dear deserve LOTS of awards because you are absolutely amazing!!! Second, thank you so much for nominating me for this award! I had a pretty bad day today and you really helped bring some happiness to my life. I promise I will do my post about this, but it might be over the weekend. I was pretty darn shocked, but in a great way!!!!

    1. Thank you so much Alyssa! And we thought of your straight away to nominate for this award! Have things been abit better since last week? I am sorry to hear you were having a bad day. xx We can’t wait to read your answers. 🙂 xxx

      1. That makes me so happy Heather!!! Things are getting better, but work has been way too much on my feet. I come home at night with my legs and feet achy and burning. Thankfully, I can put my feet up when I get home and then get a little better. I hope you enjoyed my answers to your questions! xxx

      1. There is much donkey love in that hearts pic Heather. Thank you and Dizzy for donkey hugs and healing hugs for my finger. I hope it is on the mend and I know I will never make that mistake again. I feel fortunate it was not worse than this! {{{ hugs back }}}

  8. Aw, thanks so much for nomination Dizzy!! And congratulations on your own nomination, I’m not surprised as your blog is so brilliant for the MS community! Hope that you are doing ok lovely xx

Let us know your thoughts, they always make for a very happy Dizzy :)
