We all have magic inside of us. – JK Rowling

One of the most important things in life is to find magic in everyday, but sometimes this can be easier said than done, especially in the cold winter months. With this in mind, Dizzy has put together her own little list on how we can all find magic in each and every day. 🙂

  1. Read – Books on fantasy, or maybe on something magical itself!

Dizzy is on a mission to find out all about unicorns!

2. Go on an adventure – This can just be a little adventure, or if that’s not an option, an imaginary adventure. There are lots of great audio books that can help with this too!

The donkeys (with Dizzy leading the way) have been on an adventure to the end of the garden in search of unicorns. 🙂 Unfortunately they didn’t find any…

3. Make a wish – Any wish, and believe that it will come true!

4. Be silly – Being grown up usually means being very serious about life (it’s often hard not to be). But taking a small amount of time to be really silly should be apart of everyone’s day! Maybe it’s jumping in a puddle, drawing a silly picture or doing a silly dance around the house. 🙂

5. Find something to get excited about – However small it is, find something that you can really look forward too. 🙂

6. Look up at the stars – Sometimes life can be very difficult, but by looking up it helps us to remember how big the Universe is (how small our problems are in comparison), and how magical life really is.

Unfortunately we couldn’t get a photo of Dizzy looking up at the stars. She turns into a mad donkey when let out after dark… 🙂

7. Remember that we’re all magical. We’re all made of stardust (and I can’t think of anything more magical than that 🙂 )

What are your top tips for finding magic in your life? 🙂 We’d love to hear them.

Wishing you all a day filled with magic! 🙂 xxx

  1. My boyfriend taught me that fantasy books can be for grown-ups too! I didn’t read them when I was a child, but then I got older and discovered it’s nice to leave your own little world sometimes and enter another, magical one. I’m glad too – otherwise I would have missed out on Harry Potter! Hope you and Dizzy have a magical weekend XX

    1. I love losing myself in fantasy books too. It’s one of my favourite ways to find magic. And I’m so glad you didn’t miss out on Harry Potter! I love those books. x Hope you’re having a magical week. 🙂 xxx

  2. A little magic in every day is so important! Thanks for sharing some great tips for finding it. I love that the unicorn is keeping an eye on Dizzy and her friends after they couldn’t find it.😁 A wonderful post as always, Heather!

    1. Hehe, Dizzy only saw the unicorn in the photo afterwards. She’s been out everyday since looking for her, but still no luck. 🙂 She’s a very clever unicorn! 🙂 xxx

    1. All of those things are so important! I need to learn to be more silly again, because it does might life more enjoyable. 🙂 I hope you’re all having a magical week. 🙂 xxx

  3. Your post is so light-hearted Heather, from the words to the pictures … as adults we need to laugh more and watching Dizzy and her pals put a big smile on my face. I don’t know any secrets for keeping the magic in my life because it is difficult to stay positive when everything in the news is just the opposite … there are so few feel-good stories anymore … there used to be a website for just positive thoughts …I Googled around and found this one (https://www.huffingtonpost.com/amy-neumann/15-uplifting-sites-focuse_b_1297094.html), but even hopping on here to scroll down doesn’t prevent the assault of horrible stories finding their way to our eyes and ears. We need some magic and mystique to give us a little laughter in our lives.

    1. I always feel we need more positive stories. I remember when they use to end on one on the news, but I haven’t seen one in ages! I feel there needs to be a good news channel, just to remind ourselves of how wonderful life and people can be. 🙂 x How is your week going? xxx

      1. I agree with you Heather – the world is nothing but politics these days – your news (and our news because of your news) was full of it today. Then there seems this past year that there have been so many natural disasters – has it always been like that, or am I just more cognizant of it these days? Not to mention the horrid stories out there – they all leave me shaking my head. Crimes against people, animals … horrid. That is why it is good to escape from it all and have something positive to smile about. My week was a little hectic as my boss was getting ready to go on business – he leaves tomorrow morning and is gone until Sunday. So, hopefully things settle down a little now – hope your week is going well now that we are two weeks into the new year?

        1. Not too bad. Quite busy so there’s alot of sleeping, and trying to keep warm. It really has turned chilly the last couple of days. The garden is full of tubby looking squirrels all day at the moment! Have you seen much of Parker recently? 🙂 xxx

          1. Busy is good, but the chilly weather is no fun. It feels like you never feel warm, regardless of whether you’re under a comfy quilt or sipping tea. I’m not looking forward to our snow and bitter cold weather coming in this weekend – I was enjoying the respite from Winter immensely. I did see Parker again today and gave them extra peanuts because it is supposed to snow tonight, then a snowstorm Saturday – they don’t plow the paths at the Park. Quite possibly if we get that big snowfall, and another one next week (if they’ve predicted correctly) then I may not get down there for a while unfortunately. I feel bad for them, even though they have been hiding peanuts for months, but the question is – will they be able to find them? Stay warm Heather! {{{ }}}

    1. Fairy dust is a very good substitute. 🙂 I was very proud of myself this week! They popped me on a bigger horse on Monday and we even had a little canter. 🙂 Was a bit scary though. xx

      1. Canter! That is fabulous! Well done Heather. It may be a bit scary at first but you are clearly doing well or the instructors would never have had you canter. I am very proud of you! I hope Dizzy is too.

  4. Such a sweet post, and a reminder that the smallest of things, and the biggest of dreams, can all brighten our days. Maybe we should all be looking out for a little more sparkle and a touch of magic in our lives 🙂
    Caz xx

    1. I think we should all be. There’s so many negative things it can sometimes be hard to see the magic. And it doesn’t help when feeling ill too. But I think just the simple things can help. I used an extra fizzy bath bomb yesterday, only a small thing to do, but it was great! 🙂 xxx

  5. I loved this post and agree with y’all! We all do need to find a little magic in our lives everyday because it can add so much light to our lives! Thank you so much Heather & Dizzy for this fabulous post!

  6. What a beautiful post full of inspiration and magic! ✨💕 We can never have enough magic in our lives. I love to watch at the sky and see the beautiful stars shining brightly. They remind me that life is beautiful and that we are here to enjoy life. Everything bad will pass aswell as the good things. I also love to read as it makes you forget the world and be in a fantasy world. It’s so good ✨

  7. Recently had 2 emergency hospital admissions- what helped me to find the magic during those really tough moments was:- Looking out of the hospital bay window at the beauty around plus the pretty view, reading Mark Nepo’s Book Of Awakening, as well as reading Noel Fitzpatrick’s book, Listening To The Animals- Becoming The Supervet, thinking of my Dalmatian’s smile( Sebastian), holding on the love from all my loved ones in my heart plus spirit, my own sense of humour as well as that of the NHS, plus was in wonder at the loving care received from all the doctors plus nurses during my 2 very recent stays(from 30th December 2018 for a week, then just over a week spent at home then back in for 5 days before back home again), and getting in touch with my inner child(luckily for me that is pretty easy anyhow) :-). Now am home have been overwhelmed by the support, florist like several vases of flowers around me, plus so many cards as well as visits- blown me away. Have received so much gifts in posts plus kind messages, too! Have to go back to have surgery at a date in near future so will tap into that magic again then. Adore this post Heather- loved reading it- thank You :-)! First time have been online in a long long time, too!! Warmest wishes to You & Dizzy, love Clara & Sebster and wonderful hubby Chris xxx

    1. I love how you were able to find magic, even in hospital! It can be so hard to in that situation. x I’m very glad you’re home now, and Dizzy and I are hoping that you’re able to have the operation soon. Lots of love and cuddles from me and Dizzy. 🙂 xxx

Let us know your thoughts, they always make for a very happy Dizzy :)
