This month me and Dizzy have been thinking about the down days that we all get in life, and in particular the down days when living with a chronic illness. In this episode Jen, Robert and I share our own experiences with these days, what we do to get through them days, and what we can learn from them. 🙂

Before that, we chat with Hannah about internet support for people with MS, and the exciting things that she is getting up to within the MS community.

You can also find out a bit more about us all by pottering over to Dizzy’s Dotty Team page, where you can find out all about HannahJen and Robert 🙂

We really hope you enjoy this months little episode, and please get in touch with any comments, questions or just to say hello. 🙂 xxx

  1. Aw hello Tilly, too! Losing an MRI scan… that’s awful, though I can’t say I’m surprised as I’ve experienced similar, and so frustrating to turn up to be told that rather than to be told in advance!
Another great Dizzycast. I did find that your voice, Hannah, went rather quiet at times when asking questions initially, but I turned up the volume to full so it was fine. A really important topic to cover because those ‘down days’ can be so hard to deal with, so it’s always good to know we’re not alone in experiencing them.

    1. Thanks for listening again Caz! 🙂 I think those down days hit us all at times, and so important to know we’re not alone when we have them. I’ve still got Dizzy working on the sound – one day I shall figure it out!! 🙂 Hope you have a lovely weekend. 🙂 xxx

  2. I was on mh pc this morning and then I hear the podcast. It was m husband listening to you. I turned around and he said:” it’s the girl with Dizzy! ” so we listened. He follows you on Facebook! 😊

  3. Hi Heather, it was good to listen to your podcast. The sound was okay, a little bit uneven. We all have down days. I take Neurontin to calm my lymph-edema leg before bedtime. I’ve been in remission from stage IV cancer for nine years. My leg is still numb and tingling. It takes about three hours for the med to work to calm my nerve before I can fall asleep. Sometimes I try to take it early, but then I forget if I had taken it, like tonight, I’m not sure if I took it or not. If I take it at 11:00 p.m., I would be awake until 2:00 a.m.
Take care. I hope you find help with the internet. Miriam <3

    1. Thank you so much Miriam. I’m still trying to figure out how to get the sound perfect, it’s driving me abit nutty at times! 🙂 And thank you for sharing your story, that’s such amazing and wonderful news to hear it has been 9 years. I hope you had taken the neurontin last night and managed to get a good nights sleep. x Sending hugs, and thank you so much for taking the time to listen. xxx

  4. Hi Heather – It is good to hear your sweet voice and know the person behind the words I see here in this forum. Good luck with your move to WP, org – keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well with the move.

    1. Thank you, and for taking the time to listen to the episode. 🙂 It’s pouring with rain here, which has made me think about the duck photos! Still enjoy looking at the ones you sent me through the links. 🙂 xxx

      1. Rain is good for us here though it is annoying for getting a walk in and I am trying to gt to 700 miles by the end of this month which is only three days away. We had a rainy Spring and early Summer, then drought-like conditions for alot of July.
It has been a crazy weather pattern this Summer. I have not seen any posts by John and that is odd because he generally posts every day, especially after he found the ducklings, he would post once a day about them. Perhaps he is on vacation. I am hoping to get a walk in before the rain comes … will head out once it is lighter.

        1. 700 miles is lots in just one month! How many miles have you got left to do? x Our weather has been very strange here too. We had snow at Easter, and then a really really hot summer with no rain. Luckily it’s cooled down abit now, as I’m not a fan of the really hot weather. I hope John is ok, but it is the holiday season, so likely he could be away and I look forward to more of his posts. 🙂 xxx

          1. Hi Heather – I aim to get to 700 miles by the end of August so now have two more days and since it didn’t rain this morning, it should be doable. Then another 351 miles to reach my goal. The weather needs to cooperate though to do that because once you get to the sun rising later in the morning (and I prefer to walk in the morning … to much crime around and I never go out at night and it is just me here as I live alone, so I walk by myself), and then by mid-October, you have to watch for black ice in the mornings on the asphalt path. Scared of falling and breaking something, so I am cautious and all those little factors will start to slow down the mileage. In 2016 I did 754 miles and only wanted to beat that mileage by one mile, but last year we had a very mild Fall and early December so I just kept on adding more miles to my tally. I am afraid to drive in the Winter on ice and snow as I always just took the bus to work and it was at the end of my street and now I work from home and I don’t like the hot weather either – who wants to feel sticky and clammy in your clothes the minute you walk out the door? I finally heard from John today and he commented on yesterday’s post and that is the first time in awhile. I told him I missed hearing about the mallard ducklings and even referred another person who loves ducks and ducklings to his site. So, we’ll see if he says if he’s been on vacation or not. Sometimes he posts several times a day but I think he is working more hours now. In the meantime, I remembered a post I did on St. Patrick’s Day. I went to Heritage Park which is a lovely little historic village about five miles from where I live. It has a big baseball park, and a walking path but one area is all these historical buildings on a walking path and the whole village encircles a man-made pond called Coan Lake. I was there March 17th and the lake was still frozen and I got some pictures of the mallards sitting on the ice so I’m passing it along to you: https://lindaschaubblog.net/2018/03/17/im-feelin-lucky-today/

Let us know your thoughts, they always make for a very happy Dizzy :)
