Dizzy and I (well mostly me) got a new tattoo! Stuart the Seagull – in memory of my wonderful friend Eddie, who passed away towards the beginning of the year. Our best adventures always involved feeding the seagull, so a seagull seemed suitably appropriate. ๐Ÿ™‚ When Eddie was in the hospital the last few weeks, we took him a little soft toy seagull, who Dizzy called Stuart, to keep him company and was there with him when he passed away, so I had to call mine Stuart too, and I love him!

Although this was our second tattoo, I was still a little worried about having a tattoo with MS and an MRI due. Just in case anyone else is concerned about tattooing with MS, we have decided to share some little facts. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Having MS doesnโ€™t slow down or effect the healing process after getting a tattoo
  • There are some worries about tattoos in MRI machines, as some inks can contain metal, but it is very rare for this to actually cause a problem (a recent studied with 330 people, only had one report of a person having a tingling sensation), and you can always check with your tattooist about the ink being usedย ๐Ÿ™‚ And I had my MRI 4 weeks after getting Stuart, and it was all fine.ย
  • Having a tattoo does not have any effect on MS.
  • Tattoos reduce stress, which is something we all try to combatย ๐Ÿ™‚ Although, not always so true before going. ๐Ÿ™‚

And you can always check with your MS nurse, doctor or neurologist if there is anything you are unsure of or would like to know. They really donโ€™t mind!ย ๐Ÿ™‚

Dizzy has been a very grumpy Dizzy Donkey since, as this is our second tattoo, and it is still not Dizzy, Donkey or Dizzy Donkey shaped…. Maybe next time…. ๐Ÿ™‚ xxxx

  1. Love the tattoo! I have a big T-rex on my back, when my MS is causing me grief I draw strength from him! Rawr

  2. I’ve read several just right stuff here. Certainly price bookmarking for revisiting. I wonder how a lot effort you place to create this kind of great informative website.

Let us know your thoughts, they always make for a very happy Dizzy :)
