Two weeks ago we got a new addition to the family! A little border collie called Brock. 🙂 He’s a street dog from Bulgaria and for the first week was very shy. He had never even been in a house before so wasn’t sure what anything was.

He’s now feeling much braver though and has been enjoying being in the garden with Dizzy.

I wasn’t sure if he was licking his lips because he wanted to eat Dizzy…

But Brock just wanted to give Dizzy a little Kiss. 🙂

He’s also starting to be abit naughty now. When he’s outside on his own and we go to find him he’ll be sitting in next doors garden…He has also started stealing slippers…Do you have a pet or ever had any and what sort of things do they get up to? 🙂 xxx

  1. Brock is gorgeous, but remember that once they get confident, they get naughty. Consider some obedience lessons with a trainer. Will be money very well spent.

    1. We are already thinking we will have too. I think he’d love them too. He’s learnt to give me his paw already, even though he now thinks I want it all the time! 🙂 He’s also getting a naughtier look on his face each day. xxx

  2. When I heard you got a Border Collie I had to pop by! OMG he is adorable! Border Collies are such brilliant dogs too!!!!! Love the name Brock! I am looking forward to seeing more of him! Barks and licks and love, Dakota DakotasDen

    1. I love border collies! We’ve always had them but our last one we had for 14 years and didn’t want to get another dog straight away. It’s so lovely having a dog in the house again now. 🙂 xxx

  3. Dizzy’s new friend is adorable! As long as you set boundaries, and let them know you’re not happy with the yard wandering, eventually things should be find. As for Dizzy’s safety, keep her high up for now 😉

    1. He’s made a doggy friend in there so I think he’s looking for him. He’ll just be sitting on their path looking. We are setting boundaries now and will probably be buying a new bit of fence. 🙂 xxx

  4. You know, you may want to try your hand at dog agility with him. With his street smarts and quick intellect I think he would be a pro 🙂 And it would channel some of his naughtiness xxxx

  5. ps. the first photograph of him is absolutely stunning! You should definitely frame it and put it somewhere in your home 🙂 xxxx

  6. Brock’s a cutie – glad Dizzy has a new friend!

Max, the dog lives here. Max is NOT…I repeat, is NOT my dog! He’s a rescue dog my youngest son claimed but couldn’t care for at the time because of military duty. The vet believes Max is a Greyhound/Rat Terrier mix.

    That was a year ago.

Max and the mister are inseparable and have taught EACH OTHER all kinds of tricks! My son comes by frequently to see and play with “his dog”. His dog…who ate the mister’s slippers, my slippers, the mister’s jacket, a TV remote, his leash, mail on various days…depending on where it was left, and…my bra.

I could be wrong here, but I don’t think Max is ever leaving. 😀 😉

    1. Hehe, I don’t think Max is ever leaving either! He sounds a character to have around! 🙂
Brocks been trying to eat his leash aswell, even caught him trying to nibble on his collar yesterday. He’s tried to steal a few things but not eaten them yet. I have a feeling he might do though when he’s fully settled in. xxx

  7. This is great news. It is lovely to have a dog. you are right to keep Dizzy well out of range however. I think some obedience training will be essential. Border Collies are working dogs and have lots of energy as they are bred to work and have a job. Maybe once you get on with the obedience you can try the agility with him as well. I bet he will love it.

    1. We will definitely have too. We’re always had collies but during my lifetime they’ve always been older and even though still had loads of energy have also been slowing down. I think Brock will love obedience and agility training too! 🙂 xxx

  8. Great post and congratulations on the new addition! Ours liked to pee on all of my things (including right beside my head!) because of his anxiety when we rescued him! Thankfully the anxiety is gone and my things are now safe!

    1. That’s good! We had that problem the first few days, luckily it didn’t last long. I’m so happy your dog has settled down and is feeling much less anxious now. 🙂 They’re such lovely creatures. How long have you had him for? xxx

  9. Brock sure is cute. I have no pets at the moment as I am still feeling sad after losing 4 dear cats in succession. I will get another in time. I would love a golden retriever too..

          1. Thanks! Ms. Zulu’s brothers passed over the rainbow bridge. Ms. Zulu is thankfully still with us. She is almost 12.

  10. Brock is adorable! I’m so glad he and Dizzy are getting along. Remy and Henry are not safe around critters like Dizzy. My Houston had the same stuffed babies for years and then THOSE two came along and every single “woobie” ended up inside-out!

      1. LOL Poor Houston spent years taking excellent care of his babies. He’d even bring them to me and tuck them in next to me if one of the boys teased him about them. Then Remy & Henry showed up and the next thing Houston knew he had no babies left.

  11. What a sweet picture Heather – I love how Brock was licking Dizzy’s ears – what a sweetie. I’ve never seen a Border Collie, though I’ve heard of the breed before.

Let us know your thoughts, they always make for a very happy Dizzy :)
