Last week me and Dizzy went to the New Forest! This was Dizzy’s first holiday away! I must admit at first I did feel like I couldn’t really be bothered to go. With my anxiety levels still pretty high and the MS  deciding to be super grumpy a lot of the time, at the moment I didn’t feel like doing much more than hiding in bed over the half term holiday.

I’m really glad I did go though! I lived in the New Forest for over five years so it kind of feels like a home from home, which at the moment made it feel much more manageable.

So the first couple of days we went off looking for donkeys (ok, we did this every day but didn’t see any!) and ponies.

Then we spent the day by the sea feeding the ducks, swans and seagulls! As my legs were feeling pretty wobbly that day Dizzy thought sailing might be a better idea…

Then we saw Shetland ponies! I got abit worried that this one was going to try and eat Dizzy! … but he just wanted to say hello! 🙂

Dizzy then made friends with this little Shetland who very kindly give him a pony ride.

Last day was spent by the sea! (I told Dizzy they have a donkey sanctuary on the Isle of Wight so we might visit there next time 🙂 )

It was a really lovely week away and it’s definitely helped me a bit with my stress levels. After having 8 weeks of hardly any sleep, I actually had three normal nights sleep while away which was pretty amazing! Also has helped me to get walking a bit more too. Slowly, but getting there! 🙂

Think for the next one we’re off to Scotland! What’s everyone else got planned for their next holidays? xx

  1. Great photos, so pleased you had a great visit to ‘home’ better luck next time with the donkey search ( many commoners remove the donkey’s over the winter as they don’t cope as well as the ponies, Beaulieu, pulley, brockenhurst sometimes will still have donkeys over winter), if you visit again in the summer you will be delighted to see the baby foal donkeys….always a big ahhhhh ❤️

    1. I was hoping to see the Brockenhurst one’s. I nearly always see them but not this time. 🙁 We didn’t go Beaulieu way this time but they have really cute ones! I think we will be back again later in the year, just making sure to avoid the school holidays. It was always so busy then! Baby donkeys would be amazing. 🙂 xx

      1. Brilliant, you should drop me a message to meet up when you are next down, coffee in burley or something similar, and go donkey hunting, I could always do with more photos for reference…… As long as I am free from work 😀

  2. It is so lovely having some time away! We are going to Florida in a few weeks – feeling a bit nervous about the heat and the fact it is long haul (how am I going to cope with the jet lag?!). Your break looks lovely and relaxing 🙂 xx

    1. It really is. It just feels like things would be easier staying at home and you forget how lovely it is to be away. Florida will be amazing! Just carry lots of cold water round with you. 🙂 xx

  3. Aww! I love Dizzy and I love the donkey and the Shetland ponies (is that one or two ponies? The mane looks a different color in several pictures). And the way you take the pictures as if they’re from their point of view. LOL!

I know what you mean about sleeping problems. I’ve always had horrible sleeping patterns and probably won’t get a great night sleep until I retire. I’m glad that you were able to rest, relax and have fun with your friends. 😀

    1. Thank you! Glad you love the photos. It is two Shetland ponies! There was a little group of four but the other two seemed a bit nervous so we left them to their munching. 🙂
I hope its not that long till you have a normal sleeping pattern! At the moment I’m trying herbal stuff and lavender spray. Can’t decide if its helping or not. Xx

  4. cute!! xo
