Christmas seems to be approaching very quickly! And Dizzy and I are starting to consider present ideas. Most years, we leave it till the week before Christmas, but this year we really are trying to be more organised! We also realise that most of us don’t have much spare money at the moment, and therefore Dizzy has made this little list of Christmas gift ideas for under £5. Some are even free!
- Streaming subscription
This one doesn’t sound a cheap one, but Netflix are now offering a month subscription with ads for £4.99. Christmas can be hard for some people, and this could be a great present for the festive period.
2. A jar of sweets
Most people have a favourite sweet (either now or from their childhood), and this can be a really thoughtful, and yummy gift! Dizzy’s is a jar full of ginger nut biscuits – not technically a sweet, but Dizzy doesn’t worry about that sort of thing…
3. Scented candles
These can be super relaxing! Dizzy was gifted a camomile one last Christmas, and as soon as we put it on, she’d be snoring away!
4. Soaps/bathy bubbles
This is another relaxing one. Anything to do with nice soapy or bubbly stuff can be great for helping someone to take time out for some self-care.
5. A little plant
Dizzy loves little plants. You can find an array of different ones, and I always think they make any room even brighter and happier. They also provide great company over the Christmas period and beyond.
6. A book
Books always make wonderful presents, whether they are long novels or pretty picture books. Dizzy would also like to add that there are many out there all about donkeys.
7. Cake!
It could be a Christmas cake, but any kind of cake is always good. If you’re feeling super adventurous, you can even make one! I’m pretty terrible at baking, but I always think maybe the thought would make up for the presentation and taste?
Dizzy seems to like them anyway (even if she would always rather have gingernut biscuits).
8. A notebook with a personalised note
This one is really sweet and useful! We all need notebooks at times, but with a personal note it makes it a super special gift that someone can use all year round.
9. A visit
This one is completely free, and can mean so much more to people than any gift that is bought. Just spending a little time with someone can make their whole Christmas.
. 10. Email/letter
A little visit is not always possible, especially when living with a chronic illness, but an email or letter can be just as special. Dizzy and I love sending letters, as we can add little donkey drawings round the side of them.
Have you started thinking about Christmas presents yet? And are you sharing any of Dizzy’s ideas? xxx
