Dizzy did not want to seem ungrateful
because that’s not what he was
he loved the flower of friendship
but preferred a ginger biscuit instead!
Me and Dizzy just love this little poem and painting by Elaine (original post by Elaine can be found here. 🙂 )
Check out her amazing blog and other paintings here. You might even catch a glimpse of Dizzy a few times on your visit over there. 🙂 xx
Thank you so, so much Elaine, this has made us so happy today. 🙂 xxx
Very sweet, although I thought donkeys liked to eat flowers!
Lol, not Dizzy. It’s a struggle getting her to eat anything but ginger nut biscuits! 🙂 xxx
absolutely precious……….thank you for sharing.
Thank you Wendi, we thought so too. 🙂 xxx
Wow – this is a perfect likeness. 🙂
It really is! Dizzy can’t stop looking at it. Even though the ginger nut biscuit in it is making her hungry… 🙂 xxx
Yup, you’re going to have to take a Post-it sticky note and cover it up, if Dizzy starts drooling over that ginger biscuit. 🙂
Dizzy already is, and demanding more ginger nut biscuits. Luckily I’ve found post it notes in a number of colours to distract her with. 🙂 xxx
You’re a smart cookie Heather! 🙂 (P.S. Don’t tell Dizzy I’ve conspired with you with the post-it notes though … let it be our little secret okay?)
Hehe, I won’t tell Dizzy! 🙂 xxx
So cute!
🙂 xxx
That’s so sweet! Love it! ❤
We love it too! 🙂 Dizzy can’t stop looking at it! 🙂 xxx
<3 🙂
Beautiful!! 😊
Thank you. x Elaine is so talented. xxx
So sweet 🙂
🙂 xxx
What a lovely painting and poem. You and Dizzy are very blessed. X 🌼
We really are. We feel so lucky that Elaine paints Dizzy, and so beautifully aswell. 🙂 x Hope you’re having a lovely week Brigid. 🙂 xxx
You too. I am following Elaine now too. X
I think you’ll love seeing all her beautiful paintings. She paints so many cute animals. 🙂 xxx
I am a huge fan of Dizzy. She is soooo cute. Love Elaine’s little graphic.
Thank you! 🙂 Dizzy can’t believe how alike to her it is. We love it. 🙂 xxx
Who created Dizzy? Is she handmade?
She is handmade. A totally unique donkey! She’s from the Donkey Sanctuary, who work worldwide, and she’s from the Devon farm.
https://www.thedonkeysanctuary.org.uk/ All the donkeys are knitted by volunteers (so are all different) and the money they make from selling them goes to looking after the donkeys! 🙂 I don’t think it would be possible, but would love to meet Dizzy’s maker one day. 🙂 xxx
She is so cute. i don’t live in the UK but she is perfect. I don’t think they make them anymore and for such a great cause. I love donkeys.
They are very cute. But some of the knitted donkeys can look slightly odd, I’ve seen some with massive noses that cause them to tip over. 🙂 x I love donkeys, they are so calming to be around. 🙂 xxx
Horses are my favourite animal and donkeys are like horses. Dizzy is perfect though. I don’t think there is another Dizzy with the same colour scheme. Also I love your quote of the day.
They can be found here. 🙂 xx https://www.thedonkeysanctuary.org.uk/shop/categories/gifts/woolley-donkey
Found Dizzy’s friends. I wish I could knit like that.
You can get the pattern, but I would never be able to knit one. I dread to think what the poor donkey would end up looking like if I did give it a go. 🙂 xxx
I would epic fail if I tried to knit one. Lol.
Your comment brought me back memories of when I attempted to make a loom band superhero on the loom and once I’d completed the whole thing I went to take it off and the whole thing came apart. Well apart from the legs.
Oh no! Lol! I would have not been able to have believed it! How long had it taken you to make? xxx
It had taken about two hours! I managed to tied it together but ended up with only a par of legs. Of course all the children laughed at me and it is kind of funny now but not at the time.
Lol! I know the feeling. You see the funny side later, but at the time it’s really not so funny. xxx
Sweet painting- great stuff
Thank you Sue, we just love it. 🙂 xxx
Dizzy, I don’t like flowers either! Tend to have bad allergic reactions to most of them. Stick to the biscuits!
Dizzy definitely agrees with you. x Hope you’re ok and having a lovely week. xxx
Elaine rocks, and her paintings are absolutely gorgeous! 🙂
Elaine does! Feel very lucky that Elaine takes the time to paint Dizzy! We love them so much. 🙂 x And thank you for your fb comment, we hadn’t posted that on there! Think wordpress was getting ahead of itself, but I didn’t even know it was there until your comment. 🙂 xxx
Thank you for sharing. Delightful poem.
Thank you. x Elaine is so talented, and knows Dizzy very well. 🙂 xxx
Thank you for sharing this great poem! I must say, I think Dizzy is incredible and always makes me smile! This might make both of you laugh, but a girl I work with was talking about how horrible she has been feeling with stomach issues. I told her about Dizzy and ginger cookies and she should try both ginger ale and ginger cookies. She thought I was crazy talking about Dizzy’s love for ginger, but that is okay!!
Aww, I love that you were passing on Dizzy’s ginger nut cookie knowledge today. 🙂 Hehe, do you know if she was going to give the ginger a try? xxx
Even though she might have thought I sounded crazy, she did give ginger a try and said she was feeling a lot better today!!xxx
I am glad she did. The ginger really does work! 🙂 xxx
I am glad she listened as well. So I couldn’t say this on my blog because my mother reads it. She is overwhelming disturbed about my move. I tried explaining it is only 2 hours and it isn’t going to change anything. We never get together now because our work schedules conflict. I wonder if ginger would help her calm down:)!!!xx
I’m sorry your mum is struggling with your move, but 2 hours really isn’t that long. Maybe it’s just been abit of a shock for her with it all happening quite quickly. I do think ginger would help though! 🙂 And I’ll get Dizzy to send some donkey hugs her way too. 🙂 xxx
Thank you Heather! You are right, 2 hours isn’t far at all! She is still being very dramatic about it by saying we are being separated. Sadly, I don’t think ginger would even help her! Please tell Dizzy I said thank you for her hugs!! xxx
Such a wonderful poem and painting! I’ve seen some of Elaine’s paintings, and they are all beautiful, whether whimsical or her beautiful angels. 🙂
Elaine is so talented. I love them all, but especially the animals. They always make me smile. xxx
How wonderful to have a friend like this, who understand Dizzy SO well and can not only rhyme about the cheeky chappy but paint him so well too!
I love the poem, and the painting is fabulous. I visited Elaines blog and am now a follower. Thank you for introducing me to her.
Sending much love and a bucket of squidges ~ Cobs. xxx
I’m sure you will love seeing Elaine’s paintings just as much as me and Dizzy do, they are all so beautiful! She is very talented to be able to paint Dizzy so well, Dizzy’s not always the easiest to work with. 🙂
Sending lots of love and donkey hugs! 🙂 xxx
That’s so sweet of Elaine. I love the poem and the painting! ❤️🙂
We feel so lucky that Elaine took the time to paint it. We absolutely love the painting and poem. 🙂 xx Hope you’re having a lovely week Winnie. xxx
LOL. He loves the ginger bread cookies. So precious Dizzy is. Miss seeing him lately
Dizzy really does! Still getting through a lot of packets every week. 🙂 We moved over to self hosting a few weeks ago, so I think we’ve taken a little while to probably settle in and come up on everyones readers and things again. x Lovely to see you over here again! 🙂 xxx
Beautiful post and I loved the panting 😊❤️
Thank you. x We feel so lucky that Elaine painted it for us. 🙂 xxx
