Dizzy did not want to seem ungrateful

because that’s not what he was

he loved the flower of friendship

but preferred a ginger biscuit instead!

Me and Dizzy just love this little poem and painting by Elaine (original post by Elaine can be found here. 🙂 )

Check out her amazing blog and other paintings here. You might even catch a glimpse of Dizzy a few times on your visit over there. 🙂 xx

Thank you so, so much Elaine, this has made us so happy today. 🙂 xxx

          1. You’re a smart cookie Heather! 🙂 (P.S. Don’t tell Dizzy I’ve conspired with you with the post-it notes though … let it be our little secret okay?)

    1. She is handmade. A totally unique donkey! She’s from the Donkey Sanctuary, who work worldwide, and she’s from the Devon farm.
https://www.thedonkeysanctuary.org.uk/ All the donkeys are knitted by volunteers (so are all different) and the money they make from selling them goes to looking after the donkeys! 🙂 I don’t think it would be possible, but would love to meet Dizzy’s maker one day. 🙂 xxx

        1. They are very cute. But some of the knitted donkeys can look slightly odd, I’ve seen some with massive noses that cause them to tip over. 🙂 x I love donkeys, they are so calming to be around. 🙂 xxx

          1. Horses are my favourite animal and donkeys are like horses. Dizzy is perfect though. I don’t think there is another Dizzy with the same colour scheme. Also I love your quote of the day.

          1. Your comment brought me back memories of when I attempted to make a loom band superhero on the loom and once I’d completed the whole thing I went to take it off and the whole thing came apart. Well apart from the legs.

          2. It had taken about two hours! I managed to tied it together but ended up with only a par of legs. Of course all the children laughed at me and it is kind of funny now but not at the time.

  1. Dizzy, I don’t like flowers either! Tend to have bad allergic reactions to most of them. Stick to the biscuits!

    1. Elaine does! Feel very lucky that Elaine takes the time to paint Dizzy! We love them so much. 🙂 x And thank you for your fb comment, we hadn’t posted that on there! Think wordpress was getting ahead of itself, but I didn’t even know it was there until your comment. 🙂 xxx

  2. Thank you for sharing this great poem! I must say, I think Dizzy is incredible and always makes me smile! This might make both of you laugh, but a girl I work with was talking about how horrible she has been feeling with stomach issues. I told her about Dizzy and ginger cookies and she should try both ginger ale and ginger cookies. She thought I was crazy talking about Dizzy’s love for ginger, but that is okay!!

          1. I am glad she listened as well. So I couldn’t say this on my blog because my mother reads it. She is overwhelming disturbed about my move. I tried explaining it is only 2 hours and it isn’t going to change anything. We never get together now because our work schedules conflict. I wonder if ginger would help her calm down:)!!!xx

          2. I’m sorry your mum is struggling with your move, but 2 hours really isn’t that long. Maybe it’s just been abit of a shock for her with it all happening quite quickly. I do think ginger would help though! 🙂 And I’ll get Dizzy to send some donkey hugs her way too. 🙂 xxx

          3. Thank you Heather! You are right, 2 hours isn’t far at all! She is still being very dramatic about it by saying we are being separated. Sadly, I don’t think ginger would even help her! Please tell Dizzy I said thank you for her hugs!! xxx

  3. Such a wonderful poem and painting! I’ve seen some of Elaine’s paintings, and they are all beautiful, whether whimsical or her beautiful angels. 🙂

  4. How wonderful to have a friend like this, who understand Dizzy SO well and can not only rhyme about the cheeky chappy but paint him so well too!

I love the poem, and the painting is fabulous. I visited Elaines blog and am now a follower. Thank you for introducing me to her.
Sending much love and a bucket of squidges ~ Cobs. xxx

    1. I’m sure you will love seeing Elaine’s paintings just as much as me and Dizzy do, they are all so beautiful! She is very talented to be able to paint Dizzy so well, Dizzy’s not always the easiest to work with. 🙂
Sending lots of love and donkey hugs! 🙂 xxx

    1. Dizzy really does! Still getting through a lot of packets every week. 🙂 We moved over to self hosting a few weeks ago, so I think we’ve taken a little while to probably settle in and come up on everyones readers and things again. x Lovely to see you over here again! 🙂 xxx

Let us know your thoughts, they always make for a very happy Dizzy :)
